A history and tradition in the design of roads and bridges has paved the way for Fairhurst’s continued involvement in major transportation infrastructure schemes today, including motorways, trunk roads, and major bridges.
In recent years, Fairhurst has worked on all aspects of infrastructure schemes and has a proven track record of Feasibility Studies, conceptual design, option assessment, specimen design, statutory procedures, public inquiry, detailed design, contract documents, site supervision and whole life asset management, risk management and value engineering is at the heart of all our services.
We work with Transport Scotland, the Highways Agency and local authorities to deliver their aspirations and strategies; enabling the enhancement of the strategic road network. With international contractors, we partner in Design & Build contracts to create new and striking infrastructure.
Fairhurst also has a wide and varied experience relating to major bridges. For nearly 30 years we have provided continuous consultancy services to the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (previously Forth Road Bridge Joint Board) in all aspects of the inspections, assessments, maintenance and strengthening of the bridge.
